Mar Vista Laughter Club

There are only three more sessions of the Mar Vista Laughter Club for 2016, since we’re only meeting on the last Monday of the month for October, November and December.  As the last Monday of October is Halloween, there will be the option of wearing costumes for October 31st.

November’s date is the 28th, and December’s date is the 26th.

Come join us for one or all of these dates.  We are still meeting at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 11555 National Blvd. at Federal Ave. (1 block east of Barrington Ave. on the north side of the street).  $5 donation to help pay for rent.  6:30 to 7:30pm.  No need to bring anything but you!

For questions or directions, call Kim:  310-849-4642.

Mar Vista Laughter Club

There have been five meetings of the Mar Vista Laughter Club and things are going really well.  We have had at least five people each week and it has always been a fun-filled hour with laughter, giggles and smiles.  I think that once Summer is over, we may have more people on a regular basis since many people take Summer vacations through August (including me).  The space is working out well (it’s called the “narthex” by the church) and there’s plenty of room for us to move, dance, breathe and engage in our laughter exercises.

I am hoping to see more people on a regular basis with some new faces as well as “regulars” each week.  I am happy to have created a weekly group–it is as beneficial for me to schedule a weekly time to laugh and to play as it is for those who decide to come and participate.  Come and join us!

Call me if you have any questions about this group:  310-849-4642

Mar Vista Laughter Club

Tonight will be the second session of the Mar Vista Laughter Club.  You can come even if you didn’t come last Monday night for the opening night.  Here’s the scoop:  This is for everyone who needs more laughter in their lives.  You don’t need a sense of humor, be in a good mood or have a reason to laugh to participate.  Just come to play with others in a fun environment that utilizes laughter exercises and breathing and movement.  Reduce your stress, feel uplifted, make new friends and you’ll come away feeling lighter and happier.

This is for adults and it’s a donation-based laughter class.  Donations are greatly appreciated to help pay for the weekly rent of the room.

The location is:  St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 11555 National Blvd. at Federal Ave.

Parking in the lot in back of the church.  The doors will open at 6:15pm.  The laughter club begins promptly at 6:30pm and ends at 7:30pm.

The Mar Vista Laughter Club

The room was filled with 23 people this past Monday night, July 13th for the first session of the Mar Vista Laughter Club.  It was a great start and we’ll continue weekly at the same place and at the same time.

Join us at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 11555 National Blvd. at Federal Ave, every Monday night.

Door open at 6:15 and we officially start at 6:30 and go until 7:30pm

Those who want to laugh at the end on the floor are advised to bring their own yoga mat or a towel to lie down on.

Suggested donation is $5, but no one is turned away for lack of funds.  It’s important to laugh away our stress and to create a laughter community.  That’s the purpose of laughter clubs.

Update on Dance Your ‘Buts’ Off class for Women

Here’s new information about my weekly DYBO class for women:  We will now meet, starting next Thursday, January 23rd from 11:15am to 12:15pm at the Venice Love Shack, 2121 Lincoln Blvd. (at Victoria Avenue).  Plenty of parking on the south side of Victoria Avenue starting at 11am since there’s street cleaning on that side from 9 to 11am.  I really like the room where the class is being held.  It’s called, Heart Space and has really nice energy, plus it’s bright with the one window on the side and there’s plenty of space, at least while we’re still a small group.

Update on Dance Your ‘Buts’ Off for Women

I am excited to announce that I’ll be starting a daytime class at a great space in Venice, called, the Venice Love Shack, 2121 Lincoln Blvd. 90291.  The yoga room is called Heart Space and it is located through the back of the art gallery at the Venice Love Shack.  The class begins this Thursday, January 9th and meets from 11am to 12noon.

The cost is $15 per class.  Looking forward to bringing in women who want to recognize their emotional and physical blocks and release them through music and movement.  It’s a great time to start since we are now into 2014.

Dance Your Buts Off Class begins in Santa Monica

I am starting my new program called, Dance Your Buts Off on Thursday, October 10th from 7 to 8pm. The class will be held at the Westside School of Ballet in Studio 4. This is only for women and it is designed to encourage you to release and to let go of all the “buts” in your life that prevent you from being more of who you really are, so you can create the life you are meant to live. No dance experience is necessary; just a willingness to share with other women and to release what no longer serves you through dance and movement. Come and experience this new program designed to empower, energize and enrich you as a woman.

When: Thursdays, starting October 10th from 7 to 8pm (dates in October are: 10/10, 10/17, 10/24 & 10/31)
Where: Westside School of Ballet, 1709 Stewart St. Santa Monica 90404
Dress: Comfortably for moving and dancing. You are required to wear either ballet slippers or soft-soled shoes since it’s a wooden floor and cannot get scuffed. You will also need to sign a liability waiver through the school at the first class.
Cost: $15 per class
Parking: There are only 4 spaces in the lot but the meters on the street stop at 6pm. Do not park in spaces in the lot if they don’t say “dance school” on them since there are businesses that run 24/7 so your best bet is to find a metered space on the street.

An update on Laughter Groove

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am very excited about an upcoming training that I have signed up for that will enhance my ability to be a better entrepreneur as well as to increase my skills as a facilitator. After October 7th, I will be a DYBO Specialist (DYBO stands for Dance Your Buts Off). This is a therapeutic dance program that is designed for women over 40. Its purpose is to assist women to release their “buts” that prevent them from being fully who they are and to empower them to be and to have more of what they desire as women. I am looking forward to the training. It takes place from October 3rd to October 7th. Once I return from the training, I will begin offering DYBO classes for women in the Santa Monica/West LA area. Get ready to join me to Dance Your Buts Off!
