Dance Your “Buts” Off Workshop on 11/18/13

An exciting Dance Your “Buts” Off Workshop will be held at Mystic Journey Bookstore in Venice on Monday, November 18th from 7 to 8:30pm.  This is a movement class that assists women to recognize and release their emotional blocks (their “buts”) through music and choreographed movements.

No dance experience is required.  Even though it is not a dance or fitness class you will experience a full-body workout, but it is much more than that.  As we begin to release the “buts” we carry within us, you will experience greater energy, more optimism, and many more benefits.  Plus it’s great to be with other women who want to create a more fulfilling life.

Dance Your Buts Off Class begins in Santa Monica

I am starting my new program called, Dance Your Buts Off on Thursday, October 10th from 7 to 8pm. The class will be held at the Westside School of Ballet in Studio 4. This is only for women and it is designed to encourage you to release and to let go of all the “buts” in your life that prevent you from being more of who you really are, so you can create the life you are meant to live. No dance experience is necessary; just a willingness to share with other women and to release what no longer serves you through dance and movement. Come and experience this new program designed to empower, energize and enrich you as a woman.

When: Thursdays, starting October 10th from 7 to 8pm (dates in October are: 10/10, 10/17, 10/24 & 10/31)
Where: Westside School of Ballet, 1709 Stewart St. Santa Monica 90404
Dress: Comfortably for moving and dancing. You are required to wear either ballet slippers or soft-soled shoes since it’s a wooden floor and cannot get scuffed. You will also need to sign a liability waiver through the school at the first class.
Cost: $15 per class
Parking: There are only 4 spaces in the lot but the meters on the street stop at 6pm. Do not park in spaces in the lot if they don’t say “dance school” on them since there are businesses that run 24/7 so your best bet is to find a metered space on the street.

An update on Laughter Groove

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am very excited about an upcoming training that I have signed up for that will enhance my ability to be a better entrepreneur as well as to increase my skills as a facilitator. After October 7th, I will be a DYBO Specialist (DYBO stands for Dance Your Buts Off). This is a therapeutic dance program that is designed for women over 40. Its purpose is to assist women to release their “buts” that prevent them from being fully who they are and to empower them to be and to have more of what they desire as women. I am looking forward to the training. It takes place from October 3rd to October 7th. Once I return from the training, I will begin offering DYBO classes for women in the Santa Monica/West LA area. Get ready to join me to Dance Your Buts Off!

An update on Pursuing Happiness Documentary

Guess what?  The filmmakers were able to make the $50,000 through Kickstarter and I’m very happy for them.  They will now travel throughout the U.S. interviewing all those people who say they’re happy and find out what makes them happy and why.  By this time next year, they will have completed the film and I will have my own copy of the film on DVD.

Pursuing Happiness Documentary in the works

My friend, Edward Edebiri, who calls himself a Chief Happiness Officer, sent me a video that describes a project that has interested me (I am always interested in learning more about how to feel happier).

The website is:  www.pursuinghappiness.com

It’s a four minute video and worth checking out.  If you saw, “I Am” this is along that line but the film maker is traveling throughout the U.S. and interviewing people who consider themselves to be very happy.

Today I decided to donate $35 toward the making of the documentary and encourage you to donate too, as they only have four more days to reach their goal of $50,000.

You can donate as little as $1 toward the film.  Just imagine if enough people donate a small amount, it could add up to the needed amount for them to continue traveling the U.S. to complete their film.  I watched three segments for the film and that was enough to convince me to make a donation.  Watch the segments and you decide for yourself.  Please watch the video that features Edwin Edebiri.

Wellbeing 2013 Health & Fitness Festival

The Wellbeing 2013 Health & Fitness Festival was a very well-organized and well-attended event.  There were always people around the booth, asking about Laughter Groove.  They loved the colorful foam visors and stickers that were handed out to families with children.  Many people commented about the handmade necklaces and seemed to enjoy them.  They were fun to make and I may be inspired to make more jewelry for Laughter Groove events.  This was the first of many events.  I really liked the energy of the festival.  I enjoyed the experience and look forward to more festivals where Laughter Groove can be showcased.

Laughter Groove Event at Tom’s Shoes in Santa Monica

Here are three photos from yesterday’s event at Toms Shoes!
The first one I’m with Jake Strom who originally contacted me back in 2007 to do the first laughter yoga event for the employees and interns. The second one I’m carrying my hand painted shoes that Tyler had just created. The third one is me posing with Tyler in his “box” where we enjoyed Laughter Groove together. By the way, the necklace that he’s wearing that’s white, yellow and blue I gave him and it has letters that spell out “I heart Laughter Groove”. He liked it and enjoys wearing lots of necklaces.
